Inish Turk Beg

Last Tuesday turned out to be one of the most unexpected treats I’ve had in a while. I was invited to come along to Corrigan’s and enjoy the Chefs table with Nadime Sadek who is the Chief Islander of Inish Turk Beg.. I accepted the invitation with the knowledge that I was to be briefed about a small Island of the Coast off Ireland and in for a real treat and I definitely was not disappointed!
Inish Turk Beg really is the perfect get away – It’s a private Island off the coast of Ireland. Now before all the cynics start throwing comments like, Private Island off the coast of Ireland... not exactly Fiji or Maldives but yes you’re not wrong... It’s better! No long haul flight, no jet lag, just an easy trip for a quick weekend break but with the same feeling like you have travelled to a little piece of heaven. This Island nestled off the coast of the West of Ireland really is something to consider. It’s designed for the ultimate weekend “take over” – 25 people sleeping comfortably, guests have the full run of this 65 Acres.

Visitors can enjoy a number of water sports including – Wake Boarding, Knee boarding, raft of inflatable’s and for those looking for something a little less water based, you can enjoy horse riding, shooting or archery. It’s totally up to the guests on how much or little they want to do.
They have a private chef on the Island who can create anything from a gourmet meal to a BBQ on the beach or simply pack you off for a moon lit dinner, anything is possible! The food is all fresh produce and menus can be discussed before arrival.
This Island has what has been quoted as the best pool in Ireland, with its huge heated pool standing with glass frontage to the East, South and West offering the perfect setting for dawn or dusk swims, watching the sun rise over the mainland in this perfect tranquil setting is nothing short of the perfect paradise Island picture.

The Island has a certain amount of cool and luxury attached to it, with the Island main mode of transport being the G Wagons.. So not your typical form of transport! All rooms are decked out to compete with any 5* boutique hotel but this place just comes with less stuffiness and more Wow!
So for anyone looking for the ultimate Paradise Island this should be your first stop. Flights are available from all major UK airports and Inish Turk Beg is 65 KM away from Knock Airport – (45 min car journey with a short 10 min boat journey to the Island) or helicopter can be organised.
So forget the Maldives and Fiji and head to Inish Beg this summer – you will not be disappointed!
